Sharla Feldscher

Sharla Feldscher • President

Sharla Feldscher’s creative energy and media savvy has made her a standout in the public relations field since 1984. At SFPR, her expert knowledge, excellent attention to media needs and emphasis on developing meaningful client relationships have become the hallmark of the firm. She is proud to be named to the Philadelphia Public Relations Association’s Hall of Fame as well as the Overbrook High School Hall of Fame and to have received many other honors including the Sarah Award from Women in Communications.

Sharla’s early work in public relations, marketing and the media was inspired by her teaching experience in Philadelphia. Her love of children led her to write numerous books for teachers and parents, including two KIDFUN® Activity Books (HarperCollins) that were translated into German and Russian, columns in the Daily News and the Jewish Exponent and regular features for KYW Newsradio.

In her transition to the public relations field, Sharla drew on her expertise as an educator, serving as Director of Public Affairs for Please Touch Museum, where she helped bring the children’s museum to prominence.

Four years later, in 1984, Sharla established her own public relations firm with Sesame Place, an Anheuser-Busch Theme Park, as her first client. She is proud that Sesame Place is still a client today. SFPR immediately attracted distinguished clients such as the Franklin Institute, Philadelphia Newspapers Inc., KYW-TV, FOX-TV, The Free Library of Philadelphia, the Merriam Theater, Mann Center for the Performing Arts and The Phillies, to name only a few. Specializing in tourism and children’s programming, Sharla now has clients that run the gamut from theaters to restaurants to residential communities, with campaigns tailored to fit the needs and demands of each industry.

Community involvement has always been important to Sharla. Throughout her career she has served on numerous boards and committees. Currently, Sharla is public relations chair of the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC), one of the leading child care advocacy organizations in the region. She is an active board member of Police Athletic League’s (PAL), prestigious board of directors, serving on the education, scholarship and public relations committees. She is a member of the marketing committee for the New Central Parkway branch of The Free Library of Philadelphia and serving as chair of the Media Advisory Committee. Sharla is a member of the marketing committee of Please Touch Museum and serving on their Opening Event Committee.
